Summer is on the way and you might be looking for that perfect outdoor birthday party theme- I present to you The Teddy Bear Picnic! Invite your child's friends to your home or a local park and have them bring their teds along for the fun. The classic red and white colors, fun dot print and adorable bear
brown cub make this theme un"bear"ably cute! Sandwiches can be pre packed in pretty bags or boxes and if you really want to keep it simple- skip the table settings and have everyone sit on big picnic blankets on the ground! Make bear ears, play hide and seek blow bubbles and enjoy the summer!

Here's a collection of inspiration photos I collected on my Teddy Bear Picnic Pinterest Board (sources are listed below) and the Teddy Bear Picnic printable collection is available in my Esty shop,
Emmy's Events Design Studio!

I have recently had the honor of being a Godmother to sweet Logan Gregory! I worked with his Mom (and my BFF since 6th grade!) on a cool modern grey baptism party. We did the baptism in the morning and then enjoyed a big brunch with loads of decadent dishes, a mimosa bar and an enormous cupcake display in her backyard.
Backyard parties can be quite elegant affairs with a few well selected touches! For Logan's party we used crisp white table cloths, pewter colored satin runners and bunches of fresh white carnations. (And don't to forget to put on some light music, it will really add character to your party!) The overall look was timeless, classy and not too precious- perfect for a baby boy or a baby girl who wants to baptized in style!

Should you ever find yourself in desperate need of a princess but are on a budget (princess fees have gone up!) I highly recommend creating a princess of your very own!

First you'll need a dress. I have had great luck on Ebay and Etsy but try out thrift stores because old prom dresses or bridesmaids gowns are your best friend! Also if you need a particular princess for your event make sure to look for a gown of that color- light blue, yellow, pink, lavender are all classic princess and thankfully wedding colors. Next embellish your little heart out! Add lace trim to everything and hot glue (or sew if you must) ribbon flowers all over- this is also a great way to cover stains. Last you'll need a willing young lady and a few jewels for her to wear.

Have your gorgeous princess read a story, do some simple face painting, apply temporary tattoos, lead a game of pin the horn on the unicorn and your child will have memories to last a lifetime!

I'd like to say that when the wind changes and a chill is in the air I know it's fall… but really this is California and fall is the new summer! It's absolutely beautiful! To get my fall on I visit Lomabardi Ranch in Santa Clarita with my family. Lombardi Ranch has a spectacular pumpkin selection,  a farmer's market, daily live entertainment, a petting zoo and a scarecrow maze!

Each one is unique, I always get inspired to make one (or maybe a few!) I love how they're made of craft scraps, thrifted items and stuffing! Here's some inspiration for your next scarecrow….
